My To Do List for Today

Take a long, steamy shower with a Sudacare Shower Soothers tablet.
Holy snow balls do these little tabs work! They are made with a blend of eucalyptus, menthol and camphor and are like a giant Alka Seltzer that you would never drink. You put one on a hand towel on the floor of your shower and activate with warm water. You can’t touch it and I don’t want to find out why. I used one tonight to steam out my three kids and I who are suffering from a head cold. SuperHub was in the kitchen (we have a small house) and caught a whiff. “If I hear a thud, I know you passed out. Those things are strong.” It temporarily cleared my head and made me so cozy after shower time, I immediately curled up on the couch and fell asleep until the wee hours of morning.

Look at the snow.
There is nothing as beautiful as a fresh snowfall. Especially when we have no where to go.

Make Paula Deen’s Monster Cookies.
Because I want to eat them. It will occupy a couple of hours with the kids which is always a good thing on a Snow Day. This recipe has been mom tested and kid approved by my favorite sister Erin and good friend Sara. Just like these two women in my life, this recipe is a keeper.

Watch Christmas Movies (and Daffey Duck’s Fantasy Island) via NetFlix.
If you haven’t already tried Netflix, you must. I was totally opposed to the idea of not supporting brick and mortar movie stores but I succumbed to the pressure of it all. We do occasionally still go to Mr. Movies for the experience but you can’t beat the streaming movies and easy system. Yesterday I opened the front door and put two movies, in pre-paid envelopes, in the mail box. Maddy asked “What are you doing Mom?” I smiled and replied “Just returning movies.”

(I didn’t even have to put on shoes.)

That’s all folks!

My day in a nutshell. Or should I say, my day in a cookie.

I’m going to check out those shower soothers….I used to take winter showers with Johnson & Johnson’s eucalyptus wash for babies – it was like bathing with Vick’s VapO rub, which was a good thing.

It is on the same scale as Johnson’s Vapor Bath, only it actually gets the job done. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Oh aty, sorry you are not feeling well…I also slept on the couch last night….had the “yucks”.

So, since my family has picked up that I am feeling better we are going outside with the dogs in the snow because we are CRAZY! Even Hubby stayed home today because they didn;t even attempt to come by with the snowplow.

It is the little things in life…

Take care, stay warm and I am checking into those shower tablets…

You don’t need to give me credit in every post. Hahaha! It isn’t fair since I don’t have a blog to give you credit for everything you share with me. :)

Enjoy your day! And, Have fun with Daffy Duck …

Mimi – Sounds lovely! ;) I haven’t left my house all day and I AM OK WITH THAT. Hope you are feeling better!

    Erin – Mwahmwahmwahmwah!

Sara – Right back at you babe! I was remembering the first time that came to be. “Do you ladies have a handshake?” Me: “Yup.”(Pretend to type frantically).

Kellie – Yay! Sadly, our monster cookies did not get made…Yet! We decided to make more Christmas ornaments instead and they bake for 2 hours. So tomorrow is cookie day!

We are making ornaments today! How fun. I’m sure your recipe is better than mine, can I have it. :)

    Dough

    1 Cup Salt
    3 Cups Flour
1 Cup Water (I had to add a bit more to make the dough come together.)

Beat the ingredients with a hand mixer until dough forms a ball. Remove dough from bowl and knead until smooth.Add water as needed, in very small amounts. Roll dough into golf ball sized balls. Press to flatten. Be creative! Attach noses, ears, hair, etc with a touch of water. I made hair with our garlic press on an experimental ornament and it turned out really well

Use a wooden skewer to poke holes for your strings to go through, at least a half inch from the top of each ornament. Make them bigger than you would expect and be sure to poke from the front and the back.

I also poked indents for they eyes. You could do this and not worry about painting them. I didn’t both and don’t recommend it.

Bake on a cookie sheet lined with foil at 275 degrees for 2 hours.

    Remove and let cool completely.

*Paint with acrylic paints, starting with skin color first and let dry. This only takes 10 minutes or so. Seal with Mod Podge or other sealant. I used decoupage glue.

No rush on the faces! We are snowed in as well.
