I started wrapping Christmas presents this weekend and against my better judgment, I allowed the kids to join me while I finished up. I showed them one of their presents to SuperHub. Big mistake.
That night we ate a nice gourmet supper (thank you McDonalds) then got to work crafting the annual Brown Family Gingerbread House.
Halfway through the icing, nibbling and creating Cooper turned to SuperHub and goes “Dad, we got you a Dr. Seuss t-shirt for Christmas!”
Cooper: “What I just wanted to tell Dad that we got him a Dr. Seuss t-shirt for Christmas.”
Cooper: “I JUST WANTED TO TELL HIM WHAT WE GOT HIM!”
Me: “STOP TALKING.”
Lesson learned. Again. Every year I think that maybe, just maybe, my kids have learned to keep a secret.
But they can decorate a gingerbread house like it’s nobody’s business.
